日本語

I'm learning to read Japanese. Mostly because I've been reading a lot of yuri/slice of life manga recently and have been frustrated by the barrier of translations. Long-term I intend to practice writing & speaking too, but reading is the priority.

I use Kanshudo for looking up words and storing them as flashcards. Each morning during breakfast I go over my cards, and then each evening I try to read a bit of a manga I like – starting with Bloom Into You (やがて君になる) – until I've learned 5 or so new words or grammatical concepts.

My initial introduction to Japanese was in high school, but most of the basic grammar I learned came from Tae Kim's very well-written guide.
